Scissor Lift Hire

A Scissor Lift is a machine which is used to raise people, tools and materials to work at height. They operate using crisscrossed beams that move in a scissor-like way to raise up the platform. This allows for vertical movement only – they do not have sideways movement. They are like mobile scaffolding and offer a safe way to reach tricky locations e.g. ceiling maintenance or doing electrical work at height. They can be powered by electricity (rechargeable battery) or diesel. You must be over 18 years old and have had suitable training to operate a scissor lift.

Things to consider are:

1. Platform size needed - think about the number of workers and tools or materials being lifted up.

2. Height - they can reach from 10ft to 50ft with many options in between.

3. Weight capacity – this ranges from 220kg to 1130kg

4. Working indoors or outdoors? An electric model is normally recommended for indoor work where low noise and low emissions are important, whereas a rough-terrain model may be needed if you are outdoors.
